The medieval village of Saint-Emilion is built like an amphitheater on a privileged site. This is a large indentation onthe top of a limestone hill, exposed to the midday sun and covered with vineyards. The city has maintained its ancientwalls and gates and a number of prestigious archaeological monuments. In 1999 the jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion was the first vineyard landscape inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.
Qualified by Louis XVI when he visited Libourne "the nectar of the gods", the wines of Saint-Emilion are warm, generous, full bodied and with a vivid color. They keep their grape flavor and, through bottle aging, develop a special bouquet.

- 1st Day: Welcome to Saint-Emilion
Arrival at the station or airport of Bordeaux. Transfer in Saint-Emilion and accommodation into your hotel.Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy a tour of wine tasting or test your bike doing a first short tour tosee the medieval city and take a guided tour of the underground monuments. Diner in Saint-Emilion andovernight at your hotel.
- 2nd Day: Saint-Emilion and Pomerol
After breakfast, you depart for your first full day of cycling through the small roads that cross the vineyards ofSt. Emilion and Pomerol. Visits and wine tasting. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Diner in Saint-Emilion and overnight.
- 3th Day: Côtes de Castillon
- Today we will drive to the coast of Castillon, an area rich in history in the east of Saint-Emilion. Due to the royal wedding, Aquitaine had become a rich English province, attracting the envy of the French kings and causing a protracted conflict ... the Hundred Years War. The Battle of Castillon, and the death of General Talbot, the chief of British troops, ended this period of english domination.
Discover picturesque landscapes, magnificent castles and vineyards and the Dordogne will take you for a while.Visit of two wineries and wines tasting. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in St.Emilion.
- 4th Day: Between Two Seas (Entre-Deux-Mers)
Vast region between the rivers Dordogne and Garonne, the Entre-Deux-Mers offers its visitors a rich and varied landscape of an exceptional architectural heritage:Romanesque churches, medieval ruins, castles in a green and hilly scenery. The vineyards produce a famous dry white wine, we don't have to forget the red Bordeaux came from the left banks of the river.
After wolking along the Dordogne yesterday, you will cross it today to discover the Entre-Deux-Mers region, with its hilly landscapes and diversity of wines. We will find for you the perfect itinerary and a warm welcome to the wineries you visit. Retourn to your hotel on the late afternoon.
The highlight of your day (except your bike tour of course): your dinner in the Hostellerie de Plaisance (2stars on the Michelin Guide).
