Escapade in the Cathar Country
A powerful and indivisible wind would lead me towards this tathar country, land of inspiration and mystery.
I decided to live ly week-end differently in the shadow of the prestigious dizzy heights citadels, I would take time to be seduced through my senses, letting live my sensitive perceptions until getting dazzled...

Arrival in your hotel in the heart of the Agly Valley. (Between Narbonne and Perpignan).
A typical Mediterranean diner will be waiting for you.
After an early morning breakfast, departure to the Cathar Country.
Fontfroide, isolated in the Massif des Corbières, is one of the biggest Cistercian Abbey in France whose buildings, of diverse architectures, are the heritage of a monastic past of prays and work.
The monks of the Abbey, who represented orthodoxy against the heretics, also played an important part in the struggle against the Cathars.
Nowadays, there is no more monastic life but the buildings remain beautifully undamaged and its walls shelter numerous festivals. Continuation towards the village of Villerouge-Termenés.
Lunch possible but not included in a unique medieval restaurant in Europe: "La Rôtisserie" with its historical decoration and food, will transport you back to the middle age flavours.
Then free visit of this medieval site.
Continuation to Lagrasse and visit of the Sainte Marie d'Orbieu Abbey. Old Benedictine Abbey renowed for its elegance and refinement.
Go back through the Corbières vineyards and visit of the Château La Sabine.
A diner will finish this afternoon, with local cuisine and choice of wines of the south of France.
Breakfast and departure towards the Château de Quéribus, Cathar castle and one of the last dizzy heights citadels.
Two hours free visit (take walking shoes)
Possible lunch in the very pretty village of Cucugnan, famous for its priest !
Discovery afternoon of Terra Vinea at Portel des Corbières.
